1. Scope and Data Controller
This Privacy Policy explains how KCulture.com collects, uses, stores, shares, and protects personal information when you visit the website, create an account, use Facebook or Google to sign in, post a comment, subscribe to communications, or otherwise interact with our services.
KCulture.com is operated by Nameinfra in Gwangmyeong-si, Gyeonggi-do, South Korea. For the purposes of applicable data protection laws, KCulture.com and Nameinfra are responsible for the personal information described in this policy.
This policy should be read together with our Terms of Service, Cookie Policy, and User Data Deletion instructions.
2. Information We Collect
The information we collect depends on how you use KCulture.com and which features you choose to use.
Information collected automatically
When you visit the website, our server, security services, content delivery network, and enabled website tools may automatically process information such as:
- Internet Protocol address;
- browser type and version;
- device type and operating system;
- referring and requested URLs;
- pages viewed and actions taken on the website;
- date, time, and approximate duration of a visit;
- cookie identifiers and consent preferences;
- login, security, and error information; and
- information used to identify spam, abuse, or suspicious activity.
We use this information to operate the website, maintain security, diagnose technical problems, understand general website usage, and improve our services.
Information you provide
Depending on the feature you use, you may provide information such as:
- your name, username, or display name;
- your email address;
- a profile image or avatar;
- profile information that you choose to enter;
- comments and other content that you submit;
- newsletter or communication preferences; and
- information included in messages sent through our contact channels.
Please do not include sensitive personal information in public comments or profile fields.
3. Facebook and Google Social Login
KCulture.com may allow users to sign in using a Facebook or Google account. Social login is provided to make account registration and authentication easier, particularly for users who wish to post comments.
When you choose social login, Facebook or Google authenticates your identity and may provide KCulture.com with some or all of the following information, depending on the provider, the permissions requested by the login integration, the provider’s settings, and the information available in your account:
- a provider-specific account identifier;
- your name or display name;
- your email address and, where supplied, its verification status;
- your profile image or a link to that image;
- language or locale information; and
- technical authentication information needed to complete or maintain the login connection.
Authentication codes, identifiers, or tokens may be processed or stored where technically necessary to verify your login, connect your social account to a local KCulture.com account, maintain a login session, or prevent unauthorized access. The exact technical information processed may vary according to the social login software and provider configuration in use at the time.
KCulture.com does not receive or store your Facebook or Google password.
Unless additional access is clearly requested and separately disclosed, KCulture.com does not use social login to access your private Facebook posts, friends list, private messages, Google Drive, Gmail, contacts, advertising accounts, payment information, or other unrelated account data.
Information received through social login is used to:
- create or locate your KCulture.com user account;
- authenticate you and allow you to sign in;
- link your Facebook or Google account with your local KCulture.com account;
- display your selected name or profile image in connection with your profile or comments;
- prevent duplicate, fraudulent, or unauthorized accounts;
- provide account support; and
- comply with security, legal, and platform requirements.
We do not sell social login information. We do not use information obtained through Facebook or Google login to subscribe you to marketing emails without a separate choice or consent.
Facebook and Google independently process information when you use their services. Their processing is governed by their own policies:
4. Accounts, Profiles, and Comments
KCulture.com operates on WordPress and uses membership and profile functionality, including Ultimate Member, to manage registered users, profiles, and locally stored profile images.
When a local account is created through direct registration or social login, our WordPress database may store information including:
- a username or internal user identifier;
- your display name;
- your email address;
- account registration date;
- account role and status;
- profile fields you choose to complete;
- a locally uploaded or imported profile image;
- the social login provider used and a provider-specific identifier;
- login and session-related metadata; and
- other user metadata created by WordPress or participating plugins as needed to provide the account.
KCulture.com is configured to use locally managed profile images rather than relying on Gravatar as the primary avatar service. A profile image uploaded to KCulture.com may therefore be stored on our hosting server.
When you post a comment, WordPress and related moderation tools may process your account identifier, display name, comment content, submission time, IP address, browser or user-agent information, and moderation or spam status.
Your display name, profile image, public profile fields, and comments may be visible to other visitors. Your email address, social provider identifier, authentication information, and administrative account metadata are not intended to be displayed publicly unless you choose to publish them yourself.
Comments may be reviewed, delayed, rejected, or removed for moderation, security, spam prevention, legal compliance, or enforcement of our site rules.
5. Cookies and Similar Technologies
KCulture.com and its service providers may use cookies and similar technologies to operate the website. These technologies may be used for:
- essential website and security functions;
- maintaining login sessions;
- remembering account and display preferences;
- recording cookie-consent choices;
- preventing fraud, spam, and unauthorized access;
- measuring website performance and general usage; and
- supporting advertising where permitted.
Facebook or Google may also set or read their own cookies when you interact with a social login button or are already signed in to their services. Those cookies are controlled by the relevant provider.
Where required by applicable law, non-essential cookies are used only after you make a consent choice. You can review or change available choices through the consent-management control on the website. You can also block or delete cookies through your browser settings, although doing so may prevent login or other website features from working correctly.
For further information, please review our Cookie Policy.
6. Email Communications
If you voluntarily subscribe to a newsletter or request email updates, we collect your email address and communication preferences. Newsletter information is used to send the communications you requested and is not collected merely because you used Facebook or Google to sign in.
We may use an email service provider to manage subscriptions or deliver messages. You may unsubscribe from promotional communications at any time by using the unsubscribe link included in the message or by contacting us.
We may still send necessary non-promotional messages concerning account security, privacy requests, data deletion, or important service changes.
7. Advertising and Third-Party Cookies
KCulture.com may be supported by advertising and affiliate programs, including Google AdSense. Advertising providers may use cookies or similar technologies to display, measure, limit, or personalize advertisements, subject to applicable consent requirements and the user’s settings.
Information processed by advertising providers may include cookie identifiers, IP address, device and browser information, approximate location derived from an IP address, advertisement interactions, and visits to this or other websites.
Social login information maintained for your KCulture.com account is not intentionally used by KCulture.com to create an advertising profile. Advertising providers may, however, process information independently under their own privacy policies and the consent choices available to you.
For information about Google’s advertising technologies, visit Google’s advertising policies.
You may review or adjust personalized advertising choices through:
If you opt out of personalized advertising, you may still see advertisements, but they may be less personalized.
8. Purposes and Legal Bases
Depending on the circumstances and applicable law, we process personal information for the following purposes and legal bases:
- to provide an account, social login, profile, and commenting service requested by the user;
- to perform our obligations under the site’s terms and provide requested services;
- to obtain consent for newsletters, optional cookies, personalized advertising, or other activities where consent is required;
- to pursue legitimate interests in operating, securing, maintaining, and improving the website;
- to prevent spam, fraud, abuse, and unauthorized access;
- to respond to questions, support requests, and privacy requests;
- to comply with legal obligations and valid requests from authorities; and
- to establish, exercise, or defend legal claims.
Where we rely on consent, you may withdraw that consent at any time. Withdrawal does not affect processing that occurred lawfully before consent was withdrawn.
9. Sharing and Service Providers
We do not sell or rent personal information.
We may disclose or make information available to service providers only where reasonably necessary to operate, secure, and maintain KCulture.com. Relevant categories may include:
- Facebook or Meta and Google for authentication and social login;
- Hostinger or another hosting provider for website hosting, databases, email, storage, and backups;
- Cloudflare for content delivery, traffic routing, performance, and security services;
- WordPress and enabled membership, security, anti-spam, caching, and social login software operating as part of the website;
- email delivery providers used for requested communications;
- advertising and measurement providers, including Google, where enabled and permitted; and
- professional advisers, regulators, courts, or public authorities where disclosure is required or legally justified.
Use of a WordPress plugin does not necessarily mean that the plugin developer receives personal information. Whether a provider receives information depends on how the plugin operates and is configured.
Service providers are expected to process information only for authorized purposes and subject to applicable contractual, technical, and legal protections.
10. International Data Transfers
KCulture.com is operated from South Korea, but some service providers, including Facebook, Google, hosting, content delivery, email, and advertising providers, may process information in other countries.
As a result, personal information may be transferred to or processed in a country whose data protection laws differ from those of your country. Where required, we seek to rely on appropriate contractual, organizational, or legal safeguards for such transfers.
11. Data Retention
We retain personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this policy, including operation of the website, account administration, security, dispute resolution, and legal compliance.
The retention period may vary according to the type of information:
- account and profile information may be retained while the KCulture.com account remains active;
- social login identifiers and related authentication data may be retained while needed to maintain the linked account or login service;
- comments may remain as part of the public discussion record unless they are removed or anonymized;
- security, server, and error logs are retained according to operational and security needs;
- newsletter information is retained until you unsubscribe or the service is discontinued; and
- backup copies may remain until they are replaced or removed through the normal backup cycle.
When information is no longer required, we may delete, anonymize, aggregate, or restrict further use of it, subject to technical limitations and legal obligations.
12. Data Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures intended to protect personal information. These measures may include HTTPS encryption in transit, restricted administrative access, account authentication, WordPress and plugin updates, security and content-delivery services, backups, spam controls, and monitoring for suspicious activity.
No internet transmission, website, plugin, or database can be guaranteed to be completely secure. Users are responsible for protecting their own Facebook, Google, and KCulture.com accounts and for avoiding the disclosure of passwords, authentication codes, or other credentials.
13. Your Privacy Rights
Depending on your location and applicable law, including the Korean Personal Information Protection Act, the European Union General Data Protection Regulation, and other privacy laws, you may have rights to:
- request information about how your personal data is processed;
- access personal information held about you;
- correct inaccurate or incomplete information;
- request deletion of personal information;
- request restriction of certain processing;
- object to processing based on legitimate interests;
- receive certain information in a portable format;
- withdraw consent where processing is based on consent;
- unsubscribe from marketing communications; and
- submit a complaint to an appropriate data protection authority.
Some rights may be limited where information must be retained for security, legal compliance, freedom of expression, dispute resolution, or other lawful reasons.
WordPress includes tools that allow administrators to export or erase personal information associated with a verified username or email address. The information available through these tools may depend on whether individual plugins participate in the WordPress privacy system.
14. Account and Data Deletion
You may request deletion of a KCulture.com account and associated personal information by following the instructions on our User Data Deletion page or by emailing [email protected].
When submitting a request, provide the email address associated with your KCulture.com account and identify whether you used Facebook, Google, or another registration method. Do not send us your Facebook password, Google password, one-time verification code, access token, or other authentication secret.
We may take reasonable steps to verify that the requester is the account owner. After verification, we will take appropriate steps to delete or anonymize information held by KCulture.com, which may include:
- the local WordPress or Ultimate Member account;
- profile fields and locally stored profile images;
- Facebook or Google identifiers connected to the local account;
- authentication tokens held by the website, if any;
- newsletter information, where applicable; and
- personal information associated with comments, subject to lawful retention, moderation, and technical requirements.
Deleting or disconnecting KCulture.com from Facebook or Google may prevent future access through that provider, but it may not automatically delete the local account or information already stored by KCulture.com. To request deletion of locally stored information, contact KCulture.com directly or use the User Data Deletion page.
Similarly, deleting a KCulture.com account does not automatically delete information independently held by Facebook or Google. You must use the relevant provider’s account and privacy controls for provider-side data.
Some information may temporarily remain in backups or security records until those records are replaced through the normal retention cycle. Information may also be retained where reasonably necessary to comply with law, prevent fraud or abuse, resolve disputes, or protect legal rights. Restored backups will be handled in a manner intended to respect previously verified deletion requests.
15. Children’s Privacy
KCulture.com is not directed to children under the age of 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16.
If we learn that a child has provided personal information without appropriate authorization, we will take reasonable steps to delete it. A parent or guardian who believes that a child has provided information to KCulture.com may contact us at [email protected].
16. Third-Party Links
KCulture.com contains links to third-party websites and services. We do not control the privacy, security, or content practices of those third parties. Visiting an external website is subject to that website’s own terms and privacy policy.
17. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy when our services, plugins, social login configuration, service providers, legal obligations, or data-handling practices change.
When we make changes, we will post the revised policy on this page and update the “Last Updated” date. Material changes may also be communicated through an additional website notice where appropriate.
