Immerse yourself in the grandeur of the Joseon Dynasty as the Royal Guard Sumunjang Patrol Ceremony brings history to life in the heart of Seoul.
๐ About this Event
The ‘Sumunjang Sunla Ceremony’, a reenactment of the patrols by the Sunlagun who were responsible for the safety of the royal palaces and the capital city during the Joseon Dynasty, is starting again for the autumn.
Usually, the Gyeongbokgung Royal Guard Changing Ceremony takes place only at the Gwanghwamun and Heungnyemun plazas. However, every Saturday, Sunday, and public holiday, you can meet the royal guards, patrol troops, and Chwirachi (traditional musicians) outside the palace as well. Come experience the Sumunjang Sunla Ceremony up close as it stretches from Gyeongbokgung Palace to the Insadong Culture Street, and let your imagination run wild with the sights of the Joseon Dynasty.
